This system is built already and only requires a few hours prep time for software configuration. There is no customisation option but it is available same day rather than 5 days wait on a custom system.

Outlaw is the perfect entry gaming PC that's good enough to play everything - with competent parts throughout making it up to the job of playing more demanding games like Call of Duty Warzone.

Key thing here is providing the best balance of performance and value, and we've found a great mix - fitting a 6 core Ryzen 5 5500 processor keeps the system on point with performance now, and the motherboard supports swapping to a 8 core model in future using our trade-up scheme.

The graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1650 4GB which is great for FPS gaming, and is enough to at least run every current AAA game with medium or higher settings. With a 550W FSP power supply, there's scope to replace the graphics card with a more powerful model in future too, and we've been able to include 16GB RAM so that multiple applications can be open at once and more demanding open world games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 move between areas without slow-down.

As a basis of storage we recommend a 512GB Solid State Drive which dramatically improves system start time and gives lightning-fast responsiveness when loading applications or games. Further, there's room in the case for extra storage (either additional Solid State or Hard Disk Drives) to be added to compliment the original SSD. Why do we choose a smaller fast disk to start rather than a big slow disk, when other computers around this price point may show a large hard disk instead? The performance difference it makes to general system use is huge, and crucially it's much easier to add additional storage (such as an extra hard disk) later, versus having to clone an existing large disk to a smaller fast disk should you want to speed things up in the future. 

And just look at the casing - with a glass side panel and an illuminated front panel design, it looks smart and purposeful whilst also keeping your parts cool. A button on the top of the case changes from RGB chases to single static colours so that the system can fit in with whatever scheme you choose.

Case

The Antec DP301M is a medium size case with space for long graphics cards and room for expanding storage with mounting points for up to 4 disks.

The case includes 1 fan although we can add an additional fan in the front to improve cooling.

Power 

FSP 550W Bronze Rated ATX Power Supply is comfortable for this spec of system with room to spare. A 550W power supply is good enough for graphics cards costing up to around £400.

Bronze efficiency is achieved on this model - this means that the power supply runs cooler and uses a little less electricity compared to a cheaper 'White rated' power supply, and the certification for this means that tests have been performed to confirm it matches the specification needed to meet this efficiency score. In fewer words, there are cheaper power supplies available but this one is better quality than a low-end model and reduces the cost of electricty needed.

FSP is a solid brand, giving a 3 year warranty, and has enough connectors to support additional storage devices later. 

Motherboard

Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2 is the part of the computer that all the other bits plug into, this is a mid-range model and is suited to the selected processor. This motherboard has 4 x SATA ports (for storage devices, means there’s room to add extra disk drives later), 4 x DIMM slots (used for installing memory / RAM) and in the current case we get a total of 10 x USB ports (4 x USB 2.0, 5 x USB 3.0).

This motherboard is great for future upgrades too, while we’re including a 6 core processor just now, it can support adding a 8 core processor if required in future. There’s room to add more memory and add more disk drives as noted above.

Processor

AMD’s Ryzen 5 5500 is a 6 core / 12 thread processor with a great balance of price / performance – the CPU score 20889 points in passmark is well higher than the recommended CPU score in your game list, so as long as the graphics settings aren’t overstretching the graphics card, it will be easy to get 100fps+ in all current games.

Likewise for productivity this is a good option – fast enough for most art / design work and suitable for light to medium video editing work.

6 core processors are a little more future-proof than 4 core models as more games make use of more 4 cores now so this is a good value means of keeping the computer relevant for newer games further into the future.

Memory

Memory or RAM affects how many things your computer can have open at once – typically 8GB is suitable for general computing use and 16GB needed for higher demand games, with the likes of Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto games needing 16GB RAM to maintain consistent performance.

So, included 16GB of ADATA DDR4 3200Mhz memory (made of 2 x 8GB modules) which at least means we’re keeping in line with demand. This uses 2 of the 4 slots on the motherboard, so there’s room to upgrade to 32GB if ever required in future.

Memory speed can be another factor in overall system performance – there’s only a small price increase from slower speeds like 2666Mhz to 3200Mhz memory, but the latter makes the computer noticeably quicker and is reflected in our scoring. Other computer providers may hide the memory speed, and this is usually an indication that they’re using the cheap / slow stuff to shave a few £ off somewhere, but this can be detrimental to the performance of the whole package.

Graphics

Included a Gigabyte GTX 1650 4GB DDR6 Graphics card and this achieves a passmark score of 10088 points.

This has 3 display outputs and can use all 3 at once if you want to run multiple screens (1 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x DVI).

The GTX 1650 covers above the minimum level for all games on sale today, so even on the most detailed games they will play at medium quality settings on this graphics card.

Storage

Have included a fast drive for Windows operating system and programs (512GB Ortial NVMe, reads at 2044MB/s, about 4x the speed of a ‘normal’ SSD, and 10-15x faster than a hard disk) – this is drive C. It can be used for Windows, programs, and a few favourite games.

There’s typically room for 4 to 8 games on this size of disk, so maybe in future more storage will be needed but it’s easy enough to add 2^nd or even 3^rd storage devices into the computer for more games to be installed at once in future.

Networking

Motherboard has wired Ethernet port built in, Wifi is optional but a Wifi adapter can be fitted to a USB port if required i. Certainly, a wired Ethernet connection is the most reliable option so always best to use this when possible.

OS / Software 

Genuine Windows 11 Home 64 bit included.

The older version Windows 10 is still available if preferring to stick to that perhaps to use older software, this could be upgraded to Windows 11 later even, but I'm including the newest version so that the computer is up to date and has the longest support possible by using the latest Windows software.

System assembly includes setting the system up with all updates and your choice of applications, e.g. web browser, free office/security software if needed. Any media applications – Spotify, iTunes, etc.- can pre-install some games if you want to play right away. For example, we have the downloads for some games saved here (we don't have every game but do have a decent selection of popular titles held), so we can copy them on to the system so that they are ready to play when you sign in to your game accounts.

Systems include a software recovery image to bring them back to day one condition and include all original media for the Windows license and accessories from the system's parts. 

Warranty

This specification has a full 3 year warranty on the computer parts, detailed below.

While failures in the field are rare as we test the computer thoroughly before leaving, we will always aim to sort promptly and without fuss if there’s an issue later down the line. Some stores will offer an extended ‘labour only’ warranty but only cover parts for one year, but ours covers the parts for longer, this provided as standard without extra cost. We try to use items in our computers with good backup from manufacturers, and pass that on to you – so hence many of the components have three years cover as standard.
