HP 290 i5-8500 / GTX 1050 / 16GB / Dual SSD Refurbished Gaming PC

This is a fantastic value gaming system with performance equivalent to what you would expect from a new system costing over £500. So price point is great, ultimately the only downside versus a newer PC is that this has a shorter warranty and is less upgradable - for instance, there's not scope to fit high-power graphics cards into the system - but for moderate gaming like playing CSGO, Fortnite, Minecraft etc this is ideal, or as a first starter gaming PC.

Based around a HP 290 G2 Midi Tower Casing and fitted with two Solid State Storage drives (boots up in and ready to use in less than 30 seconds) and with a GeForce GTX 1050 2GB graphics card fitted to improve gaming performance.

An interesting point, we see a lot of gaming systems advertised elsewhere at £300+ with GeForce GT 710 (634 points) or GeForce GT 1030 (2501 points) graphics cards. This system with it's GTX 1050 has a graphics score of 6565 points so is much faster than many of its contemporaries.

Let's just say, don't judge a book by it's cover, and don't assume every PC with flashing lights on the casing is as fast as it looks.

The only potential downside to this system is that it's not massively upgradable - for instance the graphics card can't be replaced by a £300 model or suchlike later and processor upgrades would really mean building a whole new system, however, it's still eligible for our trade-up scheme in future and it's essentially these upgraded office systems make for the best price / performance ratio you'll see to get started with for an entry level gaming system.

Storage is comprised of a 256GB NVMe (faster) SSD for Windows and programs and a 480GB secondary SATA SSD for games storage, making 736GB total.
